Sunday {bike ride} in the mountains

Billy took me out on the Harley today! So much fun being a "biker chick" for the day. We started in Loveland and went up through Lyons, stopped for a bite at Oskar Blues, then headed up to Estes Park and finally to Trail Ridge in the RM park. What a different experience on a motorcycle! Wow. Can anyone picture me as a biker chick full time? Cause I can! ;)

I can't wait to go on another ride! Or maybe classes to get my own!

Colorado Air Show, 2010

Saturday August 28, 2010: We went to the Colorado Air Show in Broomfield, CO at the Rocky Mountain Regional Airport. It was a bLaSt. The boys were in heaven- all 4 of 'em! We got to see fighter jets in the sky and up close on the ground. The boys were able to go in a bunch of jets- and they loved it. We got a really cool picture with the Ghost Squadron plane- which served in both the US Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy and is one of 20 still flying today.

The fighter planes that flew during the show were awesome. Holy crap were they FAST and LOUD! The boys were covering their little ears a lot during that show. Austin did pretty good. I had to push his head against me to block one ear and cover the other with my hand. That worked. No crying out of him; he even turned it into a little game. There were a few times that the jets did a fly by- sneaking up on the crowd. A wasn't prepared for this and would slam his head into me and I would cover his other ear really fast. He would pop up after the jet flew by and was all smiles. ;) Funny little guy.

I took some funny pictures of the boys playing around with the army gear there. They had a bunch of different "camps" set up- with machine guns and humvees. Peyton LOVED this part. I think Daddy loved it as much as Peyton, too. Boys!

We also listened to Aaron Tippin sing "kiss this". LOL. I liked it, but Brendan said "This is the worse song I ever heard of".<-- his exact words.

FUn Saturday for the boys. They are looking forward to next years' show already!

my baby boy is o-n-e!!!!

Austin is one! We had a little party for him yesterday. He had a lot of fun and made a lot of special memories. I just can't believe a year has gone by already!

Austin, you are such a special little guy. We all love you so much. You are learning new things everyday. You are so close to walking, it's scary. You take a few steps without anyone even trying to get you to. You cruise around on your little tikes racer like no other. It is so funny to watch you push around on it all over the house. ;) You are a little man- you say "mama", "dada" and "bye". You clap and wave. You eat like a HORSE! You are constantly changing and you amaze me everyday. I love you so much and cannot imagine life without you. You have definitely changed our family for the better. I am so happy that you are our little boy #3. ;)

the end to summer vacation....

we have been crazy busy lately! getting ready for school to start on Monday. the boys cannot wait!
let me back up a bit, though...

we had a great time in TeXaS!!! we visited a lot of friends and family. it was quite exhausting, to be honest. :) we stayed at my grandfather's house in cedar park for 4 days, then kyle's parents' house in allen for the rest of the trip.

while in the Austin area, the boys got to play with cousin Deacon, we saw lots of my family and kyle's grandma singleton. we went to zilker park, walked around downtown Austin, went to Sea World!!!, and swam in grandfather's pool. katie even played in the water- it was HOT!

i went to dinner at Chuy's with my friends from high school while we were home- we had so much fun!!!

while in the Dallas area, we spent a lot of time with grandpa and grandma sharp, uncle nathan and the villas. we saw a few movies, toy story 3 and despicable me. this was a great way to beat the heat!! ;) we did some shopping and went to the nature and science museum. kyle and uncle nathan took peyton to six flags, too. they rode tons of roller coasters all day. ;) grandma, brendan, A and I went shopping and had lunch that day (Brendan isn't a huge fan of coasters yet). I even got to spend some time with a few of my friends, Meghan and Andrea! I miss you two!
we had a lot of fun with everyone. even though the drive was unbearable (thanks to the little, but very LOUD, Austin), it was totally worth it.

it took a whole week to get back into the swing of things after being gone for almost 2 weeks. vacation can be very tiring... ;)

now we are just getting ready for school to start up again. school supplies and clothes (and shoes and back packs) have been purchased- we are set! we are also gearing up for Austin's first birthday!!!ARRGGGHH.... he will be one in less than a week! AND on top of that, I have a FOURTH grader and a SECOND grader. Oy Vey!
(I am also on day 6 of a 15 day trial- yup, i got picked for JURY DUTY!)

Here are some pictures of our vacation in Tejas...

** picture loader is being slow, i'll add more later ;)

July 4th fun

This weekend we went to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver. It was HOT, but worth it. There were some really neat things to see there (chair made from wine corks!) and live bands playing the whole day. We ate, listened to music, walked around and looked at the art booths and created some art of our own. The boys made tissue-paper flowers and maracas.
It was our first time going to the festival- hopefully we will go again next year.

Sunday we went over to a friends house for a bbq. The boys jumped on the trampoline in the rain and had so much fun getting soaked. We weren't sure the city was going to do the fireworks because of the rain-- but they DID! We watched them from our friends house- which was very convenient. On the way home, the boys saw a lot more fireworks going off.

This week we prepare for our roadtrip to Texas!! We all cannot wait! I have a long list of stuff to get done in only 5 days....
Next post..... vacation happenings! :)

summer 2010

well, this summer is flying by! i just looked at the school calendar and the boys go back to school on August 12th! we've done some pretty fun things already and we still have a bunch planned. i just can't believe June is almost over! we go to Texas in two weeks!! yay! we have lots planned for that week and a half, too. stay tuned for lots of pictures! speaking of pictures, i broke my camera this past weekend. i hope it gets fixed before our trip. best buy assured me that it would be! anyway, we are going to some pretty fun places while we are in Austin and Dallas, so i will NEED a camera! plus, we are going to see lots of family and friends. can't wait! of course, the boys are looking forward to Schlitterbahn (mom & dad are, too!). the boys are going to be staying an extra 10 days in Dallas with grandpa & grandma sharp. ahhhh, down to one kid...;)

when they get back, kyle is taking them camping- just the guys. NICE! but still, one kid.... oh well. A's not the easiest one, but he doesn't leave socks and dishes around the house and he goes to bed early. i can work with that.
we need to still fit in dinosaur ridge, the denver firefighter museum, toy story 3, and the king tut exhibit before school starts. i love that they want to do the same fun stuff that i want to do, too!

so- i know that i didn't post about our father's day. i wanted to mention this because i MUST post the picture of the gift that the boys made for kyle. it is so funny and cute at the same time!

it's a hand painted daddy bobble-head! LOL. he also got a golf towel with the boys' picture on it(to remind him that he still has a gift certificate to fossil trace golf course from Christmas that he still hasn't used yet!) and we took him out for pasta so he didn't have to cook. ;)

{busiest} weekend!

May 30, 1999- I married the love of my life. We celebrated as a family on Sunday by going out to dinner. Then on Monday-- Memorial Day-- we spent the day on Boyd Lake in Loveland, CO with Uncle Billy. We had a blast! I got a little burned, but the boys did NOT! :) Austin LOVED the boat--he was so happy! P and B had fun tubing and swimming on the beach. We anchored the boat for a while and had lunch and listened to the live band. This gave Austin a chance to crawl around the boat life jacket-free! I took some really cute pictures of the boys together. It was a great day with Uncle Billy-- we don't see him as much as we'd like. It was also an awesome family day-- we don't get many of those anymore, either!

Then--today--June 1st, Peyton's 9th Birthday! Next year he hits the double-digit age! :( Peyton, you are growing up so fast! Ahhhh, you're killin' me, Smalls!
We celebrated tonight with cake. Peyton got the new bike that he has had his eye on and many birthday cards! As B put it, "Peyton, you are SO lucky!". LOL. They each say that every year on each other's Birthdays. We didn't plan a party because we were supposed to be out of town this week, but Daddy has planned a trip to Elitch Gardens tomorrow- just Peyton & Daddy (they ride ALL the rides!).

Happy 9th Birthday, Peyton! Mom & Dad love you SO much! It has been an amazing 9 years with you! And many more......

It's been {9} months aLrEaDy?!?!?

My baby boy is 9 months. With 4 teeth and a laugh that will melt your heart, he is such a fun little boy. He loves giving { open mouth} kisses and he loves being hugged. He can't hide his excitement, either. He just starts kicking his legs and waving his hands. His brothers can get him to laugh more than his own mommy... which I love! ;)

This picture says it ALL!

I love you, Austin! 9 months has gone by so fast. I've loved every moment!

{almost} summertime!

The boys have 3.5 days left of school. I think I'm counting down the days as much as they are! No more helping with homework, packing lunches and laying out clothes...;)
We played hookie and skipped the soccer games this week. It's been 5 weeks straight. The boys needed a break. Two more weeks left of practices and games.
We've been wanting to try out the pool at the rec center for a while and decided to finally go. I know we'll be there a lot this summer so we got resident cards, too. That came with a free day to swim- yay! The pool was nice and it wasn't busy at all- until we left. We picked the right time to go!
It was Austin's first time swimming. He didn't like it at all at first. I really felt bad for keeping him in. But after about 10 minutes, he calmed down and really enjoyed the water (Good thing 'cause I spent $10 on Little Swimmers diapers). I dunked him completely under the water twice and he didn't mind at all! I got some really cute pictures of his first swim...
P and B went down the slide more times than I could count. Peyton was diving to get his toys and Brendan was content just kicking around the pool.
The showering off afterwards was interesting... Austin did NOT like that part. ;)
We watched Avatar {finally, I know} and we all liked it. {well, a few of us had to watch the ending this morning because we fell asleep...not because it was boring but because it was a long movie and we didn't start it until 8:15PM}

{Mother's Day}

Today wasn't much different than any other Sunday at our house....except for the handmade gifts that the boys couldn't wait to give me this morning. They were so excited. They know how much I love to get gifts that they make. This year was NO different! Brendan made me a card with his handprints and a flower pot with a paper flower with his picture in the middle. Peyton made me a card and 3 magnets for the fridge. I love that their teachers set aside time to do this for the moms. It is awesome!

We also made a stepping stone for the planter outside. I just did the mixing- the boys did the decorating. It turned out great- minus the little crack in Brendan's handprint (not sure how that happened!).

Kyle took us out to dinner at Rock Bottom after he got off work. After a 12 hr. shift, I really wasn't expecting to go anywhere. He is usually really tired when he gets home. It was a nice dinner and I'm really happy we went. Good food and no clean-up! ;)

The day was great- I even enjoyed watching the two Scooby Doo movies Brendan insisted on this morning. I just wanted to spend some extra time on the couch....I was still tired from yesterday. ;) I do like the cuddle time, though.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. Thank you Kyle, Peyton, Brendan and Austin for making today special! I love y'all very much!
Mom, I hope you had a good Mother's Day, too! Sorry I couldn't see you today, but we will be there soon! I love you!
